The Wave City Coffee Table

This table measuring 100 cm x 50 cm x 45 cm is made of steel and wood and uses 3D printing technology. It was inspired by a scene from Christopher Nolan’s well-known film, Inception, where he created a world in which the dreamer can bend his environment while he is dreaming.

This table represents an urban landscape, realised using 3D printing technology, with a realistic quality that catches your eye and arouses your curiosity. The steel structure makes it possible to bend the city creating the shape of a low table. Skyscrapers are seen standing proudly at the foot of the table and are then hanging in the sky, above the city, defying the laws of gravity. The table is currently on sale for €6,500.

Defying the laws of gravity: a regular practice

This table was far from being the Cypriot’s only creation. Indeed, he also created a chair primarily made from a Persian carpet that he reinforced using a steel structure so that you can sit on top of it. Each chair is hand made and takes about four months to produce. These pieces were created in collaboration with Scottish artist, Jan Blythe. This carpet gives the illusion of floating in the air, recreating the magic of our childhood fairy tales!
